You Are There for Me
Your friendship
Affords me comfort
You are there for me
I reach out
You never fail to answer
You are there for me
I speak to you
With not the fear of judgment
You are there for me
You listen quietly
With ears open to my words
You are there for me
I hide nothing
And lift up every veil
You are there for me
You hold my hand
I feel your touch
You are there for me
Your hand on my shoulder
Brings me solace
You are there for me
Yet you ask only
For the friendship that we share
You are there for me
Our lives go separate ways
We both have other calls
You are there for me
Many look so far
Without so great a find
You are there for me
A treasure I have found
And thank the heavens
You are there for me.
