You Are Not A Nobody

You are not a Nobody

I met a lady today who softly would say,
“I am nobody… I have nobody,” over and over that way.
Her words were heavy, her voice filled with pain,
Like echoes of loss that whispered again and again.

So gently I held her, drew her close near,
And spoke words of hope for her heart to hear:
“You are not alone, though it may feel odd,
For you are a child—beloved of God.”

Each time she repeated those words of despair,
I answered with truth, with love and with care.
“You have a Father who’s always right there,
In every moment, in every prayer.”

“He calls you His own, His treasure, His prize,
The apple of His heart, so precious in His eyes.
He walks beside you, both day and night,
Your constant guide, your ever-present light.”

“And oh, how He loves to commune with you,
To share in your joys and your burdens too.”
I spoke, and I spoke till her spirit grew still,
Till peace gently settled and quieted her will.

Then slowly, so softly, a smile found its place,
A glimpse of His love shone bright on her face.
And in that moment, her heart understood
The depth of a love so faithful and good.

For no one is “nobody,” not one, not even one—
We are all dearly loved by the Father and Son.
