You Are My Light
Looking out on the darkness of night,
The rain falling down on me.
In the midst of scattered hopes and dreams, I see.
One star, shining from the darkest dream.
Throw a penny in the wishing well, you came to me.
You are my light, shining from the dark,
Breaking through the fortress around my heart.
When the world is cold and lonely, you reach out your hand.
Helping me to see things clearly, and understand.
Through the tears and silent cries, you patiently wait for me.
Though I couldn't even speak your name, I was all you'd see.
One star, waiting in the shadows,
Paitiently you shown.
There to guide me safely,
Guide me back home!
You are my light, shining from the dark,
