You Are Gone
It's the sorrow no king can heal
The pain that surrounds is so real;
Now your pillow lays there cold,
There's nothing but space for me to hold.
So in my bed I lie alone,
Not knowing where you have gone;
No matter how hard I tried,
Still you were unsatisfied.
I remember when you belonged to me,
But now I need to set you free.
I think of loss and weep with pain,
To find the loss was all in vain.
I'll look back for one last gaze,
When time we spent were happier days;
But all the pipedreams that you wove,
Meant nothing more than loss of love.
Still the memory of your smile,
Lingers in my heart awhile;
But life is charted well for you,
As you leave the old to find the new.
It is hard to leave but I cannot stay,
For my hurt is sore so I'll walk away;
It hurts to be empty but I'll be filled again,
It's just a matter of how not when.
