You would be great! You are a natural the boss told Keith. He was suspicious. Would I have to wear a costume or a wreath? Nothing like that, his happy co-workers assured him. He saw a bit of a smirk on his occupational nemesis, Jim. I did it! The other cats began to mew and meow. You would be fabulous; with your dancing, you would be a wow! Would I have to sing Keith the Cat asked, with a bit of fear. Not at all, they lied through their teeth; they were abundantly clear. Here is your script, the boss said, the day before the final event. Your dancing is superb, and I hear your voice is heaven-sent. My voice! Keith squeaked, I thought I would not have to sing! Oh, just a little bit, the boss assured him. Here is the bell to ring. The costume people rushed in at a quarter to six to do him over. He did not have time to protest or scram, he later told his wife, Clover. Clover smirked a bit and said “But honey, you were so great as a tree!” He rolled his brown eyes and said “They sure got the best of me!” After it was over, the staff surrounded him for a bit of kibble. You were terrific! They all screamed as they drank with their nibble. Would you do it again? The boss asked, clearly an answer he did seek. Of course he would; for their compliments made him happy for a week.
