You and Me

Shrouded in the mists of a time that used to be,
I see you and me sitting together
With the stars coming to halo all the beauty of your lovely face.

I stare up at the ceiling at night
And see it all played back,
From our first hug to our last,
And wonder if it would have been better if we'd never met.
