You and I

Once again I was there, Kicked by a nightmare; How baffled, scared as hell Not a soul could tell! YOU had stepped aside, Left alone how I sighed! I saw YOU eye to eye, And let out a cry! I was crestfallen, Carrying the burden, That had ME so pulled down I could sure thus drown. Then, YOU had me probed, When I stood disrobed, Of all sheen and glamor, Amid the clamor: “YOU are a beauty” “I believe already!” It was very clear, Truth I couldn’t hear. “YOU are a wise head” How I acknowledged! It was very clear, Truth I couldn’t hear. “YOU are a brave soul” “Oh I am a whole!” It was very clear, Truth I couldn’t hear. “YOU have a great art” “I have made a start” It was very clear, Truth I couldn’t hear. “Are YOU virtuous!” “Oh I got this plus!” It was very clear, Truth I couldn’t hear. Then, an arrow pierced, The eyes got lowered, I was upon my knee, As YOU shone on ME. Shadows fell behind ME, Truth I could now see- My glow is like moonlight, Seen in dark of night!
