Notes About The Poem

You and I

You're the purple, I'm the white
You're the color, I'm just bright

My world is better because you're here
You bring me joy when you appear

I look for you, I always did
You didn't know, in me it hid

I couldn't tell you that I longed 
But whenever you would sing a song

I'd melt inside, I Ioved the sound
The sweetest voice, I knew I'd found

My true companion, what to do?
I had no way of telling you

And then one night I had a dream
And when I woke with eyes agleam

I fell in love right then and there
And hoped one day we'd be a pair

The moment was when then you knew
You told me that you'd had a clue

And from then on a friendship came
My life has never been the same

I dream about a real romance
Our special place, somewhere in France 

To celebrate our new found bliss
A sunset walk, a little kiss

An old chalet above a lake
Bears witness to the plans we'd make

In my heart that dream's alive
And in that dream we both do thrive

I now know love exists, it's true
It's real, I have it, all for you
