You and I

Lines run in patterns along your shell
Like the life lines that run along my hand

Both of our bodies have a story to tell
Yours comes from water and mine from land

Our experiences differ but continue to dwell
Though the past has been buried deep in the sand

Scars are memories of the times that we fell
Time changes my hand

And time changes your shell
