You

I called you pretty girl the other day,

and you,

pretending to be pissed off

asked,

was that what any man might say,

to any Miss he might have kissed.

Perhaps I lack a little gravitas

and could, just as a lover's prank,

rhyme "mass of natural gas" with "your cute ass."

You'd think me crass.

But,

might you forgive my clumsiness

to thank me should I write,

that life,

with all its tragedy and farce,

is gentler

for a glimpse of your sweet ****.
