In the meantime I'm trying to become a better poet. I'm currently taking a "creative writing course". We just got into poetry using "Assonance" and "Alliteration". That was easy. This last class the assignment was to write a separate poem for metaphor,simile,personification,oxymoron,synecdocde,meton-ymy, etc. So I have to write a poem as an example of each specific category. I had your poem, "Shield Mate" mailed to me. It's an amazing poem!

Wa 'alaikum. First of all I want to thank you for welcoming me to poetry soup, I appreciate it. I apologize for taking so long to message you. But not only do I not have a direct connection to my poetry soup page, but I also have a "Soul's Floetry" page on facebook. I spend most of my time running that page. I check that page daily over the phone and am constantly doing things with the site. Those poems are more contriversal so none of them will likely be on this site. The poetry I do is called "spoken Word". It's meant to be "heard" not read. So right now I'm working on recording myself and putting the poems from my facebook site on "Youtube".

What you described was beyond a soulmate and the "true" attributes and signs of someone being "in" love. What I read was a mixture of a legend, myth, and the unattainable desire that gives a person enough hope to go on the next day. I can't comprehend the content of such a mind/soul that can create this. I envy your workmanship. You're an unequalled poetess. That brings me to this... I'm trying to become a better poet and you have a different style and insight. I'd like to correspond with you directly. I apologize for taking so long to respond, please forgive me. First, I spend all of my time writing poems and putting them on my facebook page"Soul's Floetry". I'm taking a "creative writing course" to help write poetry better. I work with my facebook page "daily" over the phone but not my poetry soup page. Your poem was a shock to my system!
