Yoohoo, Chickadee

Yoohoo, chickadee,
Come sit on my knee.
I have a surprise for you.

A handful of seed,
way more than you need,
and bright red berries too.

Yoohoo, chickadear,
Won’t you come here?
I swear that I am nice.

I offer some crumbs
and cherries and plums.
Please take my kind advice.

Yoohoo, chickadither,
Won’t you come hither?
You need not be afraid.

With this cob of corn
picked just this morn,
you will have it made.

Yoohoo, chickadab,
Your tail I grab!
(I snuck up from behind.)

I’m a swell cat,
and I’ll get fat
on you, if you don’t mind.
