Yonder lighthouse stood for eighty-six years To warn frightened sailors of storm’s dark peril A soothing beacon for lonely seamen’s wives’ fears Yonder lighthouse stood for eighty-six years Where the jagged rocks awaited, the helmsman nears Now to climb the winding stairs in tourist’s apparel Yonder lighthouse stood for eighty-six years To warn frightened sailors of storm’s dark peril. I would only make one change. "Yonder lighthouse stood for eighty-six years" - this would be the title.

There is a lovely one in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with a fine bar at the top. Visitors can sip a drink and look over the marina.

Nice work, Milt. But this is too weird... only yesterday I was pondering a poem about a spiral staircase and a light being left on upstairs, the upshot being that it’s a lighthouse... now that’s spooky! Terry
