Yesterday's Poem By Franklin Price 03/04/2022 Just in case you have been following The poems I've written every day Since January eighteenth When my Barbara passed away Yesterday, I did not write one Other things got in the way I joined the Senior Center Around the middle of the day While I was being shown around There, playing bridge, were three. No one else was in the room So they asked, new member, me. I had not played for many years And I told them that was so That said we only play for fun So come on in and have a go They all were very friendly And were helpful every play It felt good to be involved again Would not do so every day. Each one became my partner As we moved between the games I must admit, it troubles me That I've forgotten all their names We won as many, as we lost, All my partners and I They invited me to play again When we said our first goodbye Looking forward to next Thursday When, at noon, I'll play to win If I don't forget the time I'll try to learn their names again This is the poem of yesterday Of when I went out to play I am getting my feet wet again And I'm writing it today

Franklin, it is good to know you are getting out and about. It's hard to do when we lose our spouse, but it's a necessity, and it helps us cope with our grief. Best wishes as you integrate yourself with the bridge group. Good luck!
