Yesterday's Love

We were only two young lovers crossing the threshold of desire Impatient, passionate heated our souls burned with a youthful fire Sure of our immortality we shook our fists against the world Standing together for courage with our banners proudly unfurled So many years have slid behind since we first heard those battle cries Now our mortality mocks us shadows of crosses dull our eyes Since that very first touch bound us your love has consumed me always Today our hearts still beat as one like it was only yesterday
