Yesterday Has Something To Teach
We look at the distant days
And call them outmoded,
We look at the present days
And say yesterday has faded.
This we often say in a clamour
That carries a feel of glamour.
We turn a slack eye to our culture;
Upon the base rock, our empire we build.
We've turned ourselves into hungry vultures,
Looking for ways to feed on others field.
Why?
I ask,
I cry and decry
We turn a vicious look to our bosom
And made it hell.
We made ourselves chicks
At the mercy of hungry hawks.
This
I decry and cry.
Our yesterday has something to teach,
Knowledge we should hook onto,
Wisdom we should clutch onto.
Let's allow yesterday's smile
Give us the light through the dark
To true independence.
