Notes About The Poem

My daughter lives with constant pain and is often ill. It breaks my heart.

Yesterday and Repeat

Yesterday, today and tomorrow
Like the movie, “Groundhog Day”.
This doctor, that doctor, another -
Tomorrow repeat, and replay.

My daughter cradles her arm
And rocks back and forth in her chair.
It’s rheumatoid arthritis today
That brings us for medical care.

She needs new pain medication,
Bi-polar meds must be changed.
Her myasthenia gravis means
An eye operation’s arranged.

How do you cope with so much
When you knows there isn’t a cure?
It wasn’t a choice that you made.
You simply have to endure.

You live for the days that are better
And try to enjoy without sorrow,
Though you know there’ll always be
Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Great penning Barbara with nice rhyme and flow, this is so moving and really feel for you and your daughter, but pleased there is some progress with the new drugs that are now available. Keep looking upwards, blessings always ,Gordon(in Scotland)

Yu are very kind. Thank you for reading and commenting and also for caring. Her life is not easy, but there are better times in between sometimes. Some of the new things in medicine are helping her, but they have had to file bankruptcy twice due to medical bills. That is a disgrace in this supposedly first-world country. But I will save that for another time. Thank y ou again.

Well written and expressed. Health issues can be like that for people and also complex dealing with doctors. I hope your daughter finds some comfort :)
