Yesterday

My heart was young, my soul was new Before, I spread my wings and flew My heart was so soft and tender Charmed by the flicker of her ember Our days were glory, like heaven We had some odds, but most were even We rode the way to paradise We laid the cards and flicked the dice We climbed the stairways to the skies We sang some love songs and lullabies But then one day, she drifted away She left a sore from my yesterday I wish the day that she'll come back To help me get back to my track My world is empty in her absence For her presence is my essence
