Yes, and the Dog Bleeds Red

Will the elephant cry
when he loses a friend?
When the dog is wounded
Will he bleed red?

When the calf strays from his pod
Will the whales sing to bring him back?
Will the lioness protect a cub of another cat?
When the wolf loses his way and he's all alone
Will his pack howl to call him home?

Will the eagle choose one love
For the rest of his life?
After a disagreement
Will the chimps kiss to make things right?

Are they not like us?
Are we not like them?
When we are injured,
Will we bleed red?
