Yes
A simple choice of words
Decided long ago
A seemingly simple choice to make
Just a yes or no
You asked “can we try again”
To this day I am not sure why
You decided to ask right out of the blue
To give our love another try
I almost said “no” but decided on yes
Despite my inner fears
I needn’t have worried at all
Now you’ve been my wife for 25 years
How I am so very thankful
That so long ago you persisted
If I’d said no, my kids and grandchildren
Would have never existed
To think they wouldn’t be here
Their voices never heard
To know they owe their very lives
On the choice of one three letter word
