Years of Gold

Of times long past, we think back now . . .
Those youthful days, before we made our vow.
You raced through my being like no other,
And made me fall in love with you.

Our wedding day brought thrills anew . . .
Those anticipated hours of being united with you.
We held each other for the very first time,
As man and wife, we now were.

As we settled down together we had more joys . . .
Girls for you, and then a boy.
I felt your loving touch again,
As I held each one for the first time.

Those were the days of our trials and strife . . .
We had to work hard, as husband and wife.
Our children grew tall in those days,
Forever being molded by our love for each other.

Now they have families of their own to raise . . .
We watch their children grow with a grandparents' gaze.
Oure lifetime of love has proven its worth,
In the smiles of our children's children.

The Lord has blessed us with these years of old . . .
Yes, they truly are years of gold.
Today, as we look back on them I realize,
That each day, you made me fall in love with you.
