Years End
Listen to poem:
Years End
David J Walker
The grievances of the season past
Are painted in numerous
Hues of red and gold
With the last phases blending into the
Browns found on any cold ground
It came too fast, they say
And never lasts as long as promised
Before the ice and snow erase
The final trace of color from the year
The next Spring
Then summer will bring
Its own new generation
To be named before it passes
