Yearnings Stillborn

slate gray day's
nocturnal mood
souls sensitive
often brood

upon nature's
whimsy, caprice
yearnings stillborn
know no peace

darkness settles
in forest, meadows
'pon every plateau ~
doused, flames' embers
in shuttered chateaus
