Yearning For Yellow

Gray buildings Gray skies Gray city That’s what we see 5 days a week Our time is spent In offices Pushing paper We’re in need of some relief The sun is the one Who should hang in the sky No more gloominess Yellow light, hear our cry We’re Yearning for Yellow To shine all around Envelope us - surround Casting its hue like a golden net To brighten our lives Let yellow light abound Rain Thundering Dark, black clouds Will these dreary shadows ever fade? We need Radiance Filling us up For amber light I would surely trade The sun is the one Who should hang in the sky No more gloominess Yellow light, hear our cry Luminosity, everything’s revealed Joy everywhere, no longer concealed We’re Yearning for Yellow To shine all around Envelope us - surround Casting its hue like a golden net To brighten our lives Let yellow light abound For Samil Al-Khalil's "Small Cage Big Bird" contest

wonderful write Corinne. Curious how Yearning for Yellow is in cap letters, usually denotes God or some sort of religious/spiritual awakening, in which case it's very much to the point and indeed we all yearn for it constantly and rarely ever see it, even though it's always been there shining through dark clouds of obscurity and fog. if only there was a way of undoing the fog we may get a better sense of how things ought to be.

We've had gloom here after a drought and it gets one down. We all need that light. Very well expressed. Keep writing. Sara
