Yarrow and Lavender

Yarrow spun like golden threads stitched upon the field
A patchwork of lavender highlights, tender they sway
Above exploits of brilliant lime stems they pledge to shield

The wind ruffles natures bedspread of a delicate crochet
Blossoms sashay along rows in a flower show runway
My eyes feast, entranced, at the brilliance of the palette
To uncover a Monet in a brushed purple and yellow duet

Perfume tantalizes the air into a hushed spray of reverence
With bees humming through a chorus in a magical vignette
I sit in awe as I feel the earth touch the sky in effervescence

Hi Jeanne, I love your poem! I am planning to create a Podcast episode about Yarrow for my Podcast Remedy & Rhyme and was wondering if you would allow me to read this poem at the beginning of the episode? Thank you for your consideration. ~Kimberly

Hello Jeanne McGee, these are both beautiful flowers. They look beautiful together side by side. Enjoy your day my friend.

I am not a fan of yarrow, it spreads so fast, i had to remove so many from my garden... your poem is lovely and full of great imagery..

Maybe that's why I don't see much of it...but the lavender fields look heavenly against the yellow. Thanks for your comments.
