Xmas

I cherish and relish the sweet sound of this word, As though carols of the celebration are heard; My curiousness, in my childhood, got evoked, To find, with this charming word, the greeting cards cloaked...! When others wrote the full form, I said, that was wrong, It's Xmas and not Christmas, loudly I did gong; I could not believe, even when I grew in age, That there's another word for this age-old message...! Why this abbreviation? Did I analyze? Aren't both these words, within them, great concepts comprise? Did the use of one word instead of the other, Did, at any time affect? I did not bother...!
