Writing Inside
Here I am walking these same concrete steps..
Passing the full grown trees where a few have wept..
The cracks in the walk seem wider as the days turn like a page..
The words are chasing each other in my mind that's not caged..
I see right through the faces that wear their life like a frame..
They can't escape there own prison as all hours pass the same..
They climb into my work and highlight these lines without knowing..
Each has a part not rehearsed or scripted, only there for my showing..
No curtain call or encore, only left to feed their craft for my next write..
My pencil and keyboard are the big screen for eyes like mine to hold tight..
