Writing About the Way I Feel

I write about the things I feel
The pain is real and here's the deal
I've been doing this a long time
Confined to lines and rhyme
Making it as pretty as I can
And I don't really have a plan
I just like to ride the flow
And see where I might go
Letting the fingers do the work
It's like fine dining and makes me smirk
And it never came easy to me
I put in the hours for you to see
The things in my head when I'm afraid to speak
It's a little lonely in my head and when I feel weak
It's nice to know I can show you all
That I'm not afraid to fall
I've got a voice and I'm going to use it
Because I never know when I'll lose it
So I'll write about the things I feel
Hoping it will finally help me heal
