Writing
Writing
(the title came after the end)

It seems like years, though only days,
since I sat me down to write.
I could resist the call no longer,
the timing seemed so right.
The subject of the thoughts not there;
just the need to write them here.
Sometimes my mind does this to me;
as I write things start to clear.
I begin to dust the cobwebs
collecting in my brain,
cleaning up the corners
where some new thoughts may remain.
I know the words are in there,
to get on the page and rhyme
It's not the first time this has happened,
in fact it happens all the time.
You've probably been the same place,
to clear a befuddled mind,
write down what you are thinking
and some clarity you'll find.
It matters not the subject,
and though I'm certainly no sage,
I think you'll find it helpful
to put your thoughts down on a page.
