Writer's Hazard

Do your fingers ever write faster Than your brain thinks of the words? You discover incomplete sentences That do not mean what you thought. You find that you’ve omitted a verb And so, your phrase has no action, A modifier left unsaid, no traction. In a comment, or, in writing a blurb Proofread before sharing what's wrote. As for you, I can think of instances Where inadvertent omits were hazards More often for me, they’re a disaster.

This is great advice "Proofread before sharing what's wrote." The trouble is that the right brain and the left brain are often not in sync. The proofreader and the creator do not communicate. The best advice is to have someone ELSE proofread because they will catch what you cannot.

That's very true, but I don't have anyone else to do that for me. My problem is generally NO BRAIN! (chuckling) I don't know whether I'm right or left brained. I hope I'm ambi-brained. How's that?

Are you talking about me?... Haha... or perhaps you're talking about the Alien Hand Syndrome...

Oh, I do work very hard at it, but sometimes it's hard to do.

That could be, Pashang. Problems somehow develop between my brain and my fingers. Could be an Alien Hand Syndrome! (chuckling)

Suffer from it all the time, Milt's, hands, eyes and mind all in misplaced time, so proofreading is a must, in a foreign language a drop of a verb can be the difference between, I love you, or I kill you . . . *o*

That's so true. Even in my commenting I have to go back and proofread because I'll leave out a word or have an embarrassing grammatical error. I have found if I misspell a word once, I continue to do so afterwards unless I correct it immediately.

Great reprise of what happens to me (at least) more often than not. I'm a goner without proofreading everything I post. :) gw

Me, too, gw. And, still I find glaring mistakes! It's the bane of all writers.

I'm feeling like it is common to all of us who write, especially a lot.
