Writer's Block
I sit here under this tree with pen and paper in hand,
Trying to write a poem of love and inspiration.
I’m hoping to create something everyone can understand,
Giving people a feeling of warmth and admiration.
There’s nothing I see nearby to give me a little push,
Not a single thing to inspire a few poetic words.
The only things around are two bunnies under a bush,
And the large tree I sit by with a nest full of birds.
But what could I possibly write about two rabbits?
It’s not like they do anything special other than hop.
I see them all the time and with the same old habits.
All they do is play and eat my garden lettuce nonstop.
And what about the birds sitting way up in the tree?
They’re just relaxing in their nest high in the sky.
The parents are feeding their young, just like you and me.
The only thing they do different from us is simply fly.
So, I guess there’s nothing amazing I can write today.
I’ll have to come back when my mind is free to wander.
It’s hard to imagine that with all this nature at play,
I’m not inspired to write anything to make you ponder.
