Writer's Block

I'm at a loss for words,
no idea what to say.
Nothing comes to mind
so I go about my day.

Searching for a subject
Digesting letters as I walk.
Opening every book I find
But my mind's still locked.

Close my eyes briefly
Open them and look.
The first think I gaze upon
Will be the recipe I cook.

Writer's block is like the flu
Makes you sick inside.
The simple remedy that I use
Is face it, do not hide.
