Write Me a Dream
Write me a poem,
No,
write me a dream.
You see,
when I lay my head
on my pillow at night.
Only rarely hear
The dreamers' call
You know,
the white noise
that you hear
just before you
drop to sleep.
When I do,
my mind is frantic,
Cuz I know
that which is to come
will not cause peace and rest
But it will
Put me on the run.
So I beg of you,
write me a dream.
Write me a dream
that will put to shame
each nightmare
that has crossed my path.
When there's 20 or 30 or 50
Help me to
bind them in a book
So when I need source of inspiration
To free my mind of that which claims it
I will know exactly where to look.
Write me a poem.
No,
Write me a dream, please.
