Wrecked: Dechnad-3

The sea, you see, we both agree - he’s sure to come ashore The tide is tied to lunacy he does the moon adore You’ve seen his swells, how they arise sighs uttered under breath And when she wanes, comes his demise cries, mourns her cruel death To know and yet to not accept, kept wracked by pitied plight - Love’s lunacy find its precept wrecked in her luscious light
————— Okay, I’ll keep this one - doesn’t seem like the form got in the way… This it probably just me / weird, but I found it easier to think of each stanza as a 14-syllable-per-line couplet... Creative work. I write something like this a good bit. I kind of like the 8,6,8,6 with only one rhyme. Way to go in writing this. Sara

I like the 8/6/8/6 a lot, and also 10/8/10/8. The rule that tripped me up the most was trying to have 1:8 rhyme with 2:1 and 3:8 rhyme with 4:1. Throw in all the requirements and it becomes a bit of a puzzle indeed! Thanks for the read and comments, Sara!

Is "she" - love? or the tide?

and thank you for asking! I read so many poems here, and I'm like, I think I really like it, but I'm not sure about what was meant regarding this or that. I understand that in many ways a poem is deeply personal, but I also think we get more out of them (or of the people who wrote them) when we have a little help understanding the work.
