Lily Mayfield Poet Rhyme

Wounds So Deep

The pain doesn't cease
The blood won't stop pouring
In my palm, a permanent crease
From the blade that I carry

I don't trust myself
Neither should you
I'll turn my back
I'll turn away from you

No bandage can cover
No pill can hold
You'd like to be my lover
But I don't think you can handle

You want me to share
My entire life story
But there should be a rating
Because it's kind of gory 

I'll try to open my heart
But I can't make any promises
This time I'll be smart
Because my wounds are so deep
