Wounded

positioned in love we stand, as God reaches us hand in hand,
to hold, not to tear down, to bring us to higher ground,
the battle is to be fought, not one soldier can be lost,
if one was wounded, the other carries double the weight,
in love and strength for his names sake,
not forgotten or left on the roadside to die,
not to sit back and watch as his bleeding heart cries,
the stranger walks past, and stops to turn around,
and carries the heart of the soldier he found,
all in battle for the love of the same cause,
the unseen heart was not a stranger at all,
but the moment love bent down to reach out its hand,
it was then that the dying soldier became his bestfriend
