Would You Say
Would you say?
Would you say it’s strange if I said I’ve seen demons while kneeled at the alter with cross in hand
Or would it be stranger if I said I saw angels at the bottom of a patron bottle sitting at the cliff ready to jump
Would it be strange if I said I felt love from strangers that could care less to know me but did all to support me
Or would it be stranger if I felt hate from the ones whose blood I share never realizing that malice to them I would never share
Is it strange that darkness provides warmth never pressing only caressing concealing all that’s unwantedly seen
Or is it stranger that the light is cold and unforgiving exposing all to eyes of judgment and scrutiny
Is it strange that I prefer the snakes, thieves, liars, and thugs because the mistake of trust is nonexistent and the level of pain is only yourself to blame
Or is it stranger that “good” people scare me because conformity is key and uniqueness is shunned and to be anything but a pawn is not acceptable
