Would You...

If I died, would you die with me?
our ashes mingling into forever
or would you shed just one tear
as you remembered my sharp wit
at the next cocktail party
and how it would have
made you shine
until eventually even that
would be a vague memory
like a face glimpsed quickly
through a veil of white gauze
and then forgotten
in a fog of time
