Would You
If I could have the world,
I’d still choose you.
With you as my girl,
I’d make it through.
But you had to leave,
No I don’t blame you.
It’s still hard to believe,
What we’re going to do.
I smile in agony,
As I watch as time slips.
Do you remember me,
And the taste of my lips?
I’m trying hard,
To fix what went wrong.
My heart’s left a shard,
For it’s been far too long.
In the puzzle we call life,
I dream of tomorrow.
With a swift cut of the knife,
I can’t bear this same sorrow.
Would you still be my wife,
Your strength I could borrow?
If you could show me the way,
Would you take this old dance?
If you could run to me one day,
Would you take that same chance?
I’m praying and pleading to the gods above,
Please find your way back to me, the one that I love.
