Worse Than Words

Silence is worse than words,
It digs down deep with no hesitation,
Without any deception,
And the longer you sit,
The harder it gets,
The words you want to hear,
Just don’t come out that clear,
As you sit alone in the dark,
Making sure you don’t take it to heart,
As the tears fall like fine art,
And you try not to break apart,
From the emotions you feel,
And to try and heal,
From the hurt that is real,
The silence is all that is there,
And that’s all you hear.
