Worn Balance

Something shows me how to begin
My desire, hatred, pain and everything
Something tells me not to give in
But then again, the circle will always have to win

If I could sleep through fear
When can I sleep my dear?
If I could hate the darkness
When will my light be starless?

But then I always have to believe
Myself I must recite until I leave
Within myself I’ll always have to deceive
But then the mirror says for this I must grieve

If I could feel the beating
When will we stop deceiving?
If I could run from darkness
When will my eyes be heartless?

If I could say what I feel
When will I not feel?
If I could deny sunlight
When will the balance be right?

There is a swift stroke of a coloured brush
Lighting fears of a fading rush
But when the writing of an old man breathe
The painting denies everything I must believe
