Works of Art For All To See

A work of art for all to see
That spans across; what can it be?
Functional beauty with history
Its help to man is no mystery.

Bridges, beautiful Bridges!

Bridges with beams, trusses, or arches.
Bridges suspended with trusses below.
Bridges for trains that go across cities.
And very long bridges under which waters flow.

Bridges, beautiful Bridges!

Engineering designs wrapped in splendor.
Exquisitely fashioned to function well.
Precisely built with no error factor.
As very skilled men every fear dispel.

Bridges, beautiful Bridges!

Ancient Romans built aqueducts.
Arched bridges to bring water near.
Great works of art, creative products.
Early endeavors that mankind holds dear.

Bridges, beautiful Bridges!

The first London Bridge may have fallen down,
But is survived by Lake Havasu’s arch-bridge renown. 
The famed Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco
Artistically traverses the bay to downtown and disco.

Bridges, beautiful Bridges!

Wherever there is water, bridge art is all around.
Some designs are ordinary; others will astound.
Futuristic designs with artistic glory abound.
Wherever man can imagine, great artistry is found.
