workmen

thick dark plaids and worn-out blues
with tools that cut, seal and fuse
measuring tape and nails their best friends
cutting, creating and constructing never ends

My chatting with them has to stop
they get paid hourly says my disgusted pop
but they are so honest and fun to be around
workmen seem to have their boots on the ground
