Working Through

Working through
        wretched emotions
                   unhappiness
                          maybe depression

Understanding
           unavailable
                    only advice from
others who don't have a clue

God knows
           all our faults
                 sins
                     and understands

He knows ahead all our needs
and also, needs for the person
                                                who is not the addict
and wants to know how to go on

In times
    like these
         what is the best course
                                to follow

Helping themselves
            helping the addict
                     giving both
                              a fresh start

Prayerful spill of a truth my family lived for decades due to my brother. Your words are as a mantra, to repeat often, believe in always no matter how all seems. God knows what to do but doesn't share, doesn't say when enabling not helping, gives no clues about outcome. Bro came back, sober, at 63. We were blessed to have him until he died at 67 from effects of drug abuse. Only Dad (who hurt the most from it) didn't get time w/ him, he'd died while bro was in jail. Prayers for sober peace-CayCay

I hover from depression and happiness. Normal in old age? Still loved your poem and the way you wrote it.
