Work of the Heart
Regardless of collegiate preparation,
Subject knowledge or dedication;
Teaching is not a true vocation
Unless love is the main consideration.
Teaching must involve emotion.
Without love there is no devotion.
If teaching is your career of choice,
Love of children will be your voice
Teaching is for those who hear the call.
Accept it only if your heart will fall
In love with those put in your charge
With tolerance for all in a heart so large.
Teaching is not for the hardened one,
Someone employed for just a position.
It requires one whose soul is set apart.
Teaching is a complete work of the heart.
