Words of Comfort

Today I thought of you,
I smiled, held back tears.
As children bad times were few,
we grew and so did the years.
Out on our own, a new family,
where did the time go.
More sadness we do see,
how were we to know.
The good times, forget never,
these are God given.
Make love last forever,
for this will take you to heaven.
Listen to a bird as he sings,
watch as he soars by.
Be an angel, earn your wings,
a spirit never says goodbye,
Read these words, if sadness you feel,
you will find in time.
Comfort you'll find to heal,
you can say, "This life is mine."
