Won'T Regret

People ask me how I'm doing
And how am I spending my days
That's when I put on my smile look around and say
I'm doing fine I really am okay
But they know all I'm doing is pretending
This is relentlessly never ending
To the pain of my heavy heart
Of us still being kept apart
And the anger inside me that I feel
My screaming in agony as to why is this real
Not to mention My disastrous life that I can't any longer control
It's knowing what you mean to me, you are the one so deep in my soul
Of course the brief discussion together about possibly opening again that door
Even though we had believed we had shut and locked it years before
And then there's my needing to show you all that I feel for you
But I realize, right now, you don't want me to
Then I wonder can you really tell her how you feel as you look deeply into her eyes
Or have you noticed with her it's all in disguise
Funny how some things so close to you can have you dazed and hypnotized
Here are the painful emotions I deal with and yet there are so many more
Seems to be now what my life for me has in store
And yet still I can't let you go
I wait for you and put myself through this everyday, each night, because I really do love you
so
You are the one I can never forget
And even with all the hurt I feel so strongly you are the one I won't ever regret

The flow of this poem is wonderful. I like your expression of thoughts and your use of figurative language in this piece. The theme is consistent and goes right along with the title. I really like the ending lines also. Great job! ~Joseph
