Women In Stripes
Women in stripes
are usually quite astute.
They shoot at marvelous targets
and always make their mark.
They make chalk outlines
around dead ideas and
hold the sky up with one hand.
Women in polka-dots
are wild, self-absorbed and
beguiling. You can catch
them smiling at some secret
they won't share.
How dare they have something
with which to amuse themselves with!
Women in plaid
are phenomenons although
they are complex.
They vex the gods with
their obscure beauty, unconcerned
if anyone objects.
Women who love the skin they're in
are worth writing home about.
Without shame or scorn,
she is high-born and loving life
just a little bit more than her neighbors.
