Women In My Family

Women in my family were immigrants, as history records. Grandmother Rosamond was born in Italy. Marceline was French and traveled from Lourdes. My mother, Jaqueline, was wed at seventeen. A city girl who became a young farmer's wife. Many valuable traits from her, I did glean as she taught me how to be prepared for life. I would be terribly remiss if I forget to rave about one more very important family female, my sister, Claudette, who taught me to be brave. She said, "Get up and try again each time you fail." Hi Jenna, i think you have touched on a very precious subject. How diversity of immigration, the differing cultures come together with a common goal, can make such a difference. Now to the poetry, yes i'd have to agree with all of the comments below, and add my own appreciation of its power of love, and superb poetry.

Just watched, "Finding Your Roots" where Latifa remarked about how one person can make a difference that lasts for generations. With French & Italian influence, you certainly inherited a love of Romance! Aloha!

I am gratified by your kind thoughts, Milt. I’m never sure what any contest sponsor will find worthy for a placement.
