Woman's Hands

Simple hands are working hands
Of women all across vast lands
                        Wipe tears and feed man
                                     For some their life plan

                                  Tired eyes mend the clothes
Celebrate life as your child grows
Women customs passed down to girls
Housework chores stored liked squirrels

Hello Jeanne … in many of the old cultures it was the women who toiled to the bone while the men warred. Hasn't changed much but there is some blending now in these times - nicely set out Jeanne - Lindsay

so nice, Jeanne. It's not like this all the time any more. Some "modern" women are lucky to have hubbies that help with a lot of the housework! But I think a majority of women still have the larger share of things to do with the house and children.

I still think women do the majority of the work everywhere...but now we are so lucky that in our western culture things are changing...when I am in the southern cultures it is so far behind still...reminds me of how lucky I am, in more ways then one.

This is so true. I'm not a cleaner though - I cook a lot, but clean as little as possible :) Love your poem. Blessings, Gina

I've been watching the Guatemalan women wash clothes every day in the lake...making an impression.
